My wish has been granted today as Princess Charlene joined the rest of the Grimaldi’s today in the Palace, then at Saint Nicholas Cathedral for the day portion of the Monaco Fete Nationale celebrations.

For the grandest occasion on the Monegasque calendar, the Princess of Monaco chose to wear a custom Akris “tone-in-tone royal blue velvet coat with silk satin trimmings” and a sleek velvet shirt dress underneath.

The Princess of Monaco chose a striking navy blue felt hat, also designed by Akris, which she wore tilted à la Française. Navy blue gloves and pumps completed the look.

In the jewelry department, diamond stud earrings, probably by Cartier, were the only bling in sight. Didn’t expect any more than this to be honest.

Big hat? Check. Strong colour? Check. Very flattering silhouette? Check! I’m loving this look mainly because it’s the most colour a Monegasque princess has worn on National Day in YEARS! So kudos to Charlene, and kudos to Akris!
