The first and probably last gala of the summer season attracted a great many celebrities such as Helen Mirren, Kate Beckinsale, Rebel Wilson, and last but certainly not least, Johnny Depp. You can learn more about the gala and the work of the Fondation Prince Albert II HERE

Princess Charlene chose to BRING IT tonight in a silver sequin dress by none other than Jenny Packham. The Silvie gown is heavily embellished with scores of light-catching beads and sequins and lined in satin with 3/4 sleeves. The plunging V-neckline is echoed in the back giving the gown a fantastic flow.

The dress retailed for a whopping US$5,460 before selling out, you can still check out all of its details on Net-A-Porter.

Jenny Packham is very popular with royalty, most notably the Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Victoria of Sweden.

The gown is a typical Jenny Packham silhouette which I’m just realizing now, is well within Princess Charlene’s wheelhouse. It’s a simple shape with the fabric doing the work. Princess Charlene doesn’t like big, fussy dresses but she’s always been keen on embroidery and embellishments for added fabulousness. What takes this look to the next level is the jewellery, though.

The Princess chose a very special necklace by Repossi from the Brevis collection. The necklace is set in white gold and diamonds 💎  (I’ll get the exact specs soon), price is upon request which means it costs a fortune. I think this necklace would go very well with the Diamond Foam Tiara by Lorenz Bäumer. Just throwing this out there for Fete Nationale 👼

Her Serene Highness also wore a Repossi ring with a 2-row diamond bracelet by Graff Diamonds.

Diamond stud earrings, and by that, I mean more than one pair, were added for an extra bit of bling.

For glam, Princess Charlene enlisted the help of her go-to dream team; Stephane Madinier who fashioned this Cleopatra-like hairstyle and proved that these bangs DO work. and Pablo Ardizzone who used a red lipstick for a needed pop of colour.

I’m loving this look. The only other black-tie event this year will probably be National Day, so I’m glad that HSH paid so much attention to this look and made it count. COVID can lock us up, and it probably will again, but at least we got one fabulous event!
