The newest issue of Point De Vue comes out tomorrow (December 23rd) and it features The Princely Family of Monaco on its cover. The Christmas photo was taken by Palace photographer, Eric Mathon, at the Palais Princier with a beautiful Christmas tree. I have to say I love this photo so much more than last year’s official portrait.
For the photo, Princess Charlene wore a long-sleeve gown from Ralph and Russo. The dress comes from the brand’s first prêt-à-porter collection. It was worn by Chinese actress Fan Bingbing in 2017 for an event during Cannes Film Festival.
This is a very surprising choice from Princess Charlene. She’s worn Ralph and Russo Eden pumps to the Monte-Carlo Gala of Planetary Health in September. I wonder if they were purchased around the same time. I actually wonder if HSH wore the same shoes for the photo.
Princess Charlene paired this dreamy dress with the Himalia Tahitian pearl earrings by Cartier.
Not be confused with HSH’s other Himalia pearl earrings by Cartier that feature white pearls and were seen more often, most notably at the baptism of Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques. I wonder if they’re both gifts by Prince Albert.
As you might have guessed, the photo was taken before last week’s Christmas tree party. With Stephane Madinier for hair and Pablo Ardizzone for makeup, this becomes one of my favourite Christmas looks of all time. I love this soft colour on the princess and the feather embroidery makes it Christmasy but not too on-theme. The Princess is scheduled to make one last appearance this year in the New Year’s video message with Prince Albert which airs a day or two before the year ends. Until then, enjoy your turkeys, presents, and “one other household.”
