Today Prince Albert and Princess Charlene attended the closing ceremony of the 59th Monte Carlo TV Festival which is also known as the Nymph Awards.
Posing with Michael Douglas who received the Crystal Nymph Award this year, the Princess proved me right when I guessed she’d attend the event :D
Posing with Prince Albert, Princess Charlene surprised us with a white gown. Why is it a surprise? Because it’s not black, and not Akris.
Princess turned to Louis Vuitton, a brand she hardly ever wears for evening gowns. The gown comes from the 2019 Pre-Fall collection and “made from luxurious silk-cady mousse, this Long Embroidered Dress is centred around a flattering gather at the waist. It is embellished with a solar motif of darkly sparkling charcoal-gray rhinestones. Shoulder pads structure the silhouette and the middle slit adds a sultry note”. The dress is available on the Louis Vuitton website in both white and black (thank god she didn’t go for the black one) for $7,750.
To be honest with you, I didn’t like this gown in stills, it looked matronly and underwhelming, but after seeing photos of the princess walking in it, it grew on me, the dress flows nicely and the slit shows enough leg to balance out the decolletage. I also wasn’t a fan of the waist but it also looks a lot better in motion.
What I haven’t come around about are the shoes. Princess Charlene wore these Dior satin pumps with ankle straps. I wish she had gone for sandals, preferably silver. We know she has a lot of those.
The hair, the makeup, and the jewelry were all on fleek, though. Princess Charlene wore her Repossi engagement ring. The gorgeous earrings are Graff (which just opened a new store in Monaco). They are described as layered diamond hoop earrings “gleaming rows of round and invisibly set baguette cut diamonds are transformed into scintillating curves that flow like ribbons, contrasted with the architectural beauty of pear shape diamonds.” This pair boasts 30.57 carats and you really shouldn’t even think about asking how much they cost!
