On July 28, 2012, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene attended a cocktail reception for I.O.C members at the Maison de Monaco which had just been inagurated two days earlier in London. This was one of many events the couple undertook during the London Olympics. The event wasn’t widly photographed but the building in the Haymarket was specifically redesigned inside for the Maison de Monaco to host VIP breakfasts, cocktails and screens for guests to watch the games.
For the reception, Princess Charlene wore a raspberry red dress that could not be idenfitied at the time. Now, over 7 years later, I confimed my suspicion that it’s Alaïa.
The knit dress features 3/4 sleeves and a bateau neckline. The skirt has such a nice pleat. Since the dress is open knit, it’s kind of see-through and so the princess wore a nude layer underneath. The Princess wore it with the Kailey sandals from Tory Burch. The Princess wore the dress again in August 2012 for a match between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid in Monaco.
A very pretty knit dress, and Princess Charlene wears it so well.
