A few days ago, Princess Charlene visited Wallis Annenberg PetSpace in California. Wallis, CEO of the Annenberg Foundation, is a friend of the Grimaldi’s and has met Princess Charlene on several occasions, most notably in 2016 at the official launch of Princess Charlene’s Foundation in the USA. The Wallis Annenberg Foundation has partnered with the PCF multiple times since then.
Wallis Annenberg showed Princess Charlene around PetSpace and shared with her what the organization does to promote the science and education of the human-animal bond. Princess Charlene also had the opportunity to meet and interact with some of the adoptable pets including adorable puppies that came to PetSpace from the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control.
We know Princess Charlene cares about animal welfare and rights. A few months ago, she visited a rhino orphanage in South Africa and she has owned multiple dogs since before her marriage to the Prince. She’s had Monte, a chihuahua & Carlo, a Yorkie. Carlo died in an accident in 2015, and it’s unknown what happened to Monte. Now the Princess has two chihuahuas, Thula & Wena (both words are isizulu and mean “keep quiet”).
Did Princess Charlene adopt one of these puppies?
“Though she did not adopt from us, she loved meeting our dogs and cats that we are working to find wonderful and caring homes,” said a PetSpace representative.
Style Note:
Princess Charlene wore the same jeans she wore in South Africa earlier this year. The designer is unknown and I assume she got them from South Africa.
Doesn’t she look radiant with all the puppies?
