Today, November 15th, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene kicked off the Fete Nationale festivities at the Red Cross headquarters today in Monaco. Last week, Princess Charlene was in Italy for the opening of a school as part of a collaboration between the Monegasque and Italian Red Crosses. Today, the Prince and Princess of Monaco handed presents as they do every year.
For the occasion, Princess Charlene chose to surprise us all with an outfit that I couldn’t have imagined in my wildest dreams. A grey turtleneck by Loro Piana, paired with a subtly-colourful, pleated chiffon midi-length print skirt by Dior.
(in a different colour)
The skirt was worn by Korean Singer Suzy Bae to the Dior FW 2019 show. I have to say, I much prefer the way Princess Charlene styled it.
To stay warm, the Princess of Monaco added a cream longline gilet, also by Loro Piana. Charlene de Monaco wore grey low-heeled boots (a repeat) with new eyeglasses by Furla. This is the third time the Princess has worn glasses publicly, so I think it’s safe to assume that she needs them medically. I find it cute that she chooses to wear glasses sometimes rather than contacts.
This outfit has grown on me, the skirt is absolutely gorgeous and the tutleneck must have been super comfortable. But I wish it was tucked into the skirt to allow the skirt to flow better. I also wish Princess Charlene chose a different coat to make it, as Heaven LM put it, less Mette-Marit. I’d love to see this gilet again. Maybe with a blouse and skinny pants?
I’m in love with the sleek hairstyle which was done masterfully by Stephane Madinier and the very natural makeup that Rubi Long did.
What do you think of this look?
I agree with your words. The skirt is beautiful, but that sleeveless vest or coat hides Charlenes good figure and makes her look older than her age. She needs to show her figure, not hide it. Also the hairdo does not do much for her. The Princess has had a lot more glamorous hairdoes. Maybe she will change it again? I wish the Royal couple of Monaco and their sweet children all the best. I am a huge fan of the Grimaldi family.
