With Netherlands and the world greeting the new Dutch monarch, King
Willem-Alexander and his wife, Queen Maxima, it’s time for me to greet
some of the royal guests with some thumbs up, there’s no thumbs down
today since I didn’t hate anyone’s look. Also, since I haven’t slept for
more than 3 hours in the past two days like most of those
too-excited-for-the-inauguration pals, this post will have only my very
favorite looks.

Princess Mette-Marit of Norway
In Valentino

What
a difference a day can make! Princess Mette-Marit wore a very delicate
costum made Valentino gown, the gown is the long version of this Fall
2013 Ready to Wear dress,
Mette-Marit didn’t wear a hat, instead she wore a head-thing (can’t
really find a name for it) with crystals and flower (made of crystals),
the clutch is Valentino too, MM followed the trend of white pumps. I
like it so much that I forgot yesterday’s disaster…. Okay, maybe not
that much…

Princess Letizia of Asturias
In Felipe Varela

Letizia
continued to dazzle, although this Felipe Varela gown might look
similar to yesterday’s, it’s gorgeous, the embroidery, the cut, the
colour, everything was perfect!

The dress is made of silk and tulle titanium, embroidered with steel and crystal microbeads,
Leti paired it with suede sandals and hematite clutch, both from
Magrit. And while many thought that the hat was from Felipe Treacy, it
wasn’t. It was by MarĂa Nieto (first time to hear of her too)!

Princess Mathilde of Belgium
In NATAN

Princess
Mathilde kicked it out of the park again during the celebrations,
Mathilde wore a long silk crepe dress in cyclamen pink with a draped
asymmetrical neck and a flared sheath effect on the arm, Mathilde paired
it with the Fabienne Delvigne hat we talked about yesterday.

 I
mainly love the hair and the make up more than anything, followed by
the hat, Who doesn’t love a large hat? As for the dress, it reminds me
of one of Maxima’s, but I prefer this colour.

Princess Mary of Denmark
In Charlotte Lynggaard

Yes,
Princess Mary wore a Kimono, and Yes, I like it. Although I find the
neckline quite too deep, and although the sleeves remind me of the
Beulah London red dress that Kate wore and I hated, I like that and I
like that she went for something new, would have loved it more if she
had picked different shoes. Note: Her Bottega Veneta clutch is still
with her.

Princess Masako of Japan

Only
Princess Masako can wear an old dress that wasn’t ironed well and still
make it to my favorites, Because it’s so nice to see her in a major
event like this. Lovin’ her brooch, too.

The Duchess of Cornwall
In Bruce Oldfield

I love the colour, her Philip Treacy hat and the fact that he chest is in its place.

Princess Victoria of Sweden
In Escada

Victoria
brought the glam she was missing yesterday with this shiny gown which
she paired with a Jimmy Choo clutch and a hat that looks like the
Philips Treacy Zara Philips wore for thr wedding of Prince William which
took place today 2 years ago!

Update: Philip Treacy confirmed that Princess Victoria was wearing one of his hats, and Escada confirmed to be the house behind the gown.

Princess Mabel of Orange-Nassau
in Viktor and Rolf

Princess
Mabel wore an amazing outfit by Viktor and Rolf in black with a white
sleeve with a big bow (keep the bows coming girl).

her outfit was cheerful although it’s in black and she was in a less than a happy mood.

Sheikha Mozah of Qatar
In Valentino Couture

You
can always trust Mozah to bring some Haute Couture, I like how satin is
mixed with chiffon and I like that more women are wearing capes now.
However, what I really like about this outfit is the huge necklace and
earrings, they transfer the outfit from the -_- side to the 0_0 side,
the coloured stones in them provides some needed colour too, and I like
the brooch on the bag.

Princess Lalla Salma of Morocco
In a Caftan

When
you invite Lalla Salma to your royal event, you sign up for having some
serious embroidered traditional couture mixed with a new set of jewels
(always) and paired with some fierce shoes from a western designer, in
this case it’s Louboutin, and I love the colour of the velvet caftan.
Lalla Salma might be wearing caftans to all these kinds of events but
she’s always bringing something new in them.
