At
this very moment the Monegasque Royals are dancing the night away at the
Sporting Club in Monte-Carlo as they are attending the Bal de la Rose. This year they’re celebrating 150 years of The Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) and the theme which was chosen by Karl Lagerfeld is Belle Pop (a mash up of Belle Epoque and modern Pop), So let’s see the sartorial side of the story!

This year Princess Charlene followed the theme and chose a weird white gown with a biker jacket!

And
mind you, she has listened to your suggestions about wearing jewellery
and wore all the jewels she could find on her way… but just before you
get too excited, they’re actually beads beaded extensively on the top
part of the gown.

The gown is costum made Ralph Lauren Collection
based on many of RL creations as you can see in the picture below (taken
from the last few seasons), this isn’t the first time Charlene wears a
Ralph Lauren dress (remember her gown from Princess Grace awards?)
however, it’s her first time to wear a costum made piece and to the Rose
Ball.

Ralph Lauren Collection dresses

Following the theme, Charlene arrived covering her chandelier-like dress with the Leather Davidson Jacket from Ralph Lauren Collection in cream, you can buy the jacket in black from Stylebop for 1995€ as it’s now marked down from 3990€. the jacket is described as:

list icon The ultimate investment piece, this biker-styled leather jacket from Ralph Lauren Collection adds edgy-cool appeal to any look
list icon Classic
motorcycle styling, spread collar with snaps, epaulets, long sleeves,
zip pockets and cuffs, belted waist, cropped silhouette
list icon Wear with high-waisted skinnies and a fitted top or a mini dress and heels
Material: 100%Calf Leather

 Charlene
Von Monaco had some dramatic makeup and a retro -full of gel-
hairstyle, also her earrings are heart-shaped and they’re new!

While
I appreciate that she always follows the theme, I really can’t make up
my mind about this look, I mean, I love the idea of the jacket and it
reminds me of Sarah Jessica Parkers black biker jacket over the pink
Oscar de la Renta beaded dress, and I adore the beads in Charlene’s
dress, but the beading is kind of overwhelming and that choker-like
thing is looking weird in photos (I’m sure it looks FAB in real,
though). so it’s your call, love it or hate it?

Arriving with Princesse Charlene de
Monaco and Prince Albert was the new royal grandma, Princess Caroline
of Hanover who was seated next to her friend, designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Princess Caroline wears Chanel Fall 2012 Couture

Caroline
wore a Chanel Fall 2012 Couture gown and accessorized it with round
earrings and a necklace with a heart-shaped pendant, typical Caro, me
thinks.

Also in Presence was Charlotte Casiraghi who was also dressed in Chanel Couture, just like her mum and just like last year, but this year Charlotte brought her beau, Gad ElMaleh with her and this counts as the first official engagement they attend together!

Charlotte Casiraghi in Chanel Couture 2013
Charlotte’s dress comes from the Spring 2013 collection, and yes being friends with uncle Karl has its perks!
While
I prefer Charlotte’s shoe-choice to that sad pair of boots above, I
still find it a really bad choice on such a delicate dress and feminine
look with very soft makeup (not to forget the gorgeous jewelery)!

As
you can see it seems that Charlotte has cut her hair, I love it like
that and I love her for leaving that cape from the runway look at Karl’s
atelier!

Which is your favorite look from these looks?

P.s: Will add more photos of other royal guests once they’re available.
